From Jessica: 'Mostly (Clouds & Light)' was written in 2015, during some intense anxiety - about impending shows and residencies and major career changes, the day before my first show with Jes Kramer, and Katie Mansfield. Despite it being a small show at a loveable welcoming dive called Pavillion, my fear of existing incorrectly was at its usual all-time high. I wrote this song to encapsulate the feelings of leaving your body and floating into your mind, into a dream state, into that place where you are both alone with yourself and connected to others (in that dreamy press-pause on reality way). It is my most performed song since then, and has yet to be officially recorded for an album. It has appeared on a practice demo, marking a moment in time where I decided to stop trying and let myself 'fly' (Peak/Peek), and also in a live compilation with Eastman Audio by Matt Eastman (eastmanaudio.bandcamp.com/releases) . This version is the Eastman Audio piano and vocals, recreated at home 'In the clouds' into my usual space sounds floaty space jam...a step in the direction of the final album version, scheduled for 2021."
