This is an After Ours tune from our album "All The Time" - The title comes from the idea of someone being very polite about something very urgent, which is how society expects us to behave when protesting, so this tune is saying "excuse me" in an attempt to get the attention of the government in the polite manner they ask of us, followed by "this is my blood", which is an urgent declaration that we are dying but also all connected thru our blood being spilled collectively. I originally wrote it in response to the 2016 NC bathroom bill (who knew how much worse it could get...) championed by our former Indiana governor, Mike Pence, who I hate with a fiery passion, so this tune is a protest anthem against Pence about how we all share the same blood in our veins, despite how we identify ourselves in terms of gender, but can more broadly describe feelings of being disenfranchised by our power structures & societal "norms" & wanting to voice our discontent without being inhibited by "politeness".
